Oklee Quilting Supply Inc. has been operating in Oklee since 1988. It originally specialized in batting sold by mail order and instore with a small selection of fabrics. In 2008 Toni and LeAnn bought the business from their mother Loretta. They continued the batting business and began to expand the store into a full service quilt shop that is open Monday through Saturday. The fabric inventory was expanded and notions and patterns were added. Under the direction of the sisters and their business manager Cheryl O’Neill the store has successfully grown. Oklee Quilting has also recently remodeled their store inside and out. Currently it averages 1000 bolts of quality fabrics which include fleece and batiks as well as lines from Moda, Quilting Treasures, Henry Glass, Hoffman Fabrics, Robert Kaufman, Blank Quilting and Studio E to list a few. There is also a good variety of 108 inch backing fabrics. The shop also added a long arm quilting machine and offers that service to their customers. Classes are offered during the fall and winter offering projects that teach techniques for beginners and knowledgeable quilters alike. Recently they also began offering home décor and gift items. Oklee Quilting keeps in touch with their clients via a monthly newsletter and their website which they are currently working to upgrade to include more of the store offerings. Oklee Quilting works hard to find new and exciting fabrics and projects to offer their customers.
